Cannot join my server via the internet!

Exclamation
I set up SRCDS on another computer in my network for Garry's Mod. It only lets me join the game via LAN. If I try joining via internet it says "connection failed after 4 retries". Both of the computers have internet access, and the server is running on port 27015, which is open on my router as well. My server shows up on the master list also. The server ip is 71.127.79.112:27015, and if I look at the game status, it says I am playing on the server (which I am). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

This is exactly what is happening on my Left 4 Dead server.

Try doing this: Goto http://www.whatismyip.com and have your friend connect through console with this command:

Connect [yourip]:27015

If he can get in, then it's good.

The only bad thing is, (If you have my problem) once he connects, you wont be able to.

Better luck to you.

Also my friend can't see the game on the master list. I sent him the ip and he tried to join, but it said the server was not responding. He told me the ip address, which was a LAN ip address (192.168.0.100), not 71.127.79.112:27015 like it should have said. Also I have another network router hooked up to my main router, I don't know if this a problem though.

Still get "connection failed after 4 retries", and my friend simply cannot find the game.

Make sure you've done portforwarding right.
You can check it here: http://canyouseeme.org/

Insert the port number and view the result. Smile.

It says all the necessary ports are closed. I opened them though, to 192.168.0.100:27015, since that was the ip steam said it used. I think the problem is that I am using a two router configuration. I have the main router, then I have a cable running from port 3 (192.168.0.103) to my network hub in the other room. Since I am checking the server from my other computer hooked up to the same hub, it shows the server's private ip to be 192.168.0.100:27015. Do I need to wire the server directly to the Main Router then???

Also I just discovered that both of the computers hooked up the the second LAN hub have the same ip address! Is this even possible???

I hooked everything up directly to the main router, and did the port check. Everything is configured exactly the same, but it only show 27015 as open.
