Nobody ever joins my server, why? I have it set to sv_lan 0, so people should be able to join.. right?
What exactly does this mean?
Is there any port forwarding involved? Because on my Half-Life 2 server I never had to port forward, and people could join just fine.
My friend keeps getting.. "Connection reset after 10 retry attempts" and gets disconnected (While it's loading)
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

port forwarding seams like the only cause of the problem, before you do that try a dmz that will tell you if ports are the issue. if it works after that you can keep the dmz(means all the ports are unblocked) or you just port forward the ones you need.

I can only unblock one IP, so should I unblock the one my server uses?
EDIT:
Also, would it matter if I had Left 4 Dead, and Left 4 Dead Dedicated Server installed/uninstalled?
Is it a requirement, or optional.
(Meaning that this computer that is hosting the server doesn't have L4D, I play L4D on my new computer, which is right beside this one.)
EDIT: Damn.. Didn't work, I DMZ'd what my server is saying is the IP in the CMD box, and opened ports 27015, and 27005. Still no luck, my friend still disconnects after 10 retry attempts.
I guess this means my server is still not open to the internet, but what I find weird is, I can see my server name on the "Friends Playing" list.

Forward the correct ports to the server box.
The server doesn't need L4D, just install the server using hldsupdatetool

But, is there anyway I can make it so that it doesn't do it like that.
You know when you goto "Play Versus" and then goto "Find Game in Lobby" and it takes you to a server, you go into the game and it's somebodies server.
How exactly can I get my server to work like that?

other people will see that ip address and connect to it like that, it should be there if it works for your friends.

It worked he's in.
The problem now is, once he joined, I couldn't connect.
I'm now getting the "Connection Reset after 10 retry attempts" error.
