Hello! I need help. when I running hldsupdatetool.bin terminal write

What should I do? Who install and run on the server on Ubuntu 8.10 AMD64???

Your attempting to do it in /media/disk

I.e. even it was finding it your doing it in a read-only external drive. Is it something like a Pen drive, external hard drive? etc,,,

Also, I wouldn't be so keen on AMD64 for game servers. Never tried it myself. Im assuming this isn't your main given you asking this question though, its more a linux question than an srcds one.

Heres a little script I just threw together for you.

That will do everything for you and leave you with a fully installed L4D server ready to run but you will probably want to configure it. All you need to do is is "sudo bash" it.

In terminal, do the following:

cd
wget http://www.epicbananaclan.co.cc/stuff/l4d_install
sudo bash ./l4d_install

Then just leave it to run. If you have issues, come back.

btw, if you want to look at it just click on the link and it should show in your browser since its just a text file.

Yes. This file is located in the directory. I installed server on Ubuntu 8.10 i386 and everything works fine.

And now everything works fine! YEa!!! I using server from Ubuntu i386 and write in terminal
sudo apt-get install ia32-libs!!! Thanks =)

Ah good to hear. One thing I would note is that you are emulating 32bit in 64bit which can cause a little reduction in performance. Although not significant enough to merit re-installing linux.
