Hi, i am trying to create a team fortress 2 dedicated server but i seem to always run into the same problem.
When i do the first steps required, install the hldsupdatetool and then type hldsupdatetool -command update -game ''tf'' -dir C:\srcds in CMD it doesnt download all the files i have read it should. Seems it should take some hours or something but all i get is
Checking bootstrapper version.....
updating installation
**game options for source DS install: and then a very long list of games.
at the end it says HLDS installation up to date
Why wont it download all the files ? Please help me out.

I tried hldsupdatetool -command update -game ''tf'' -dir C:\srcds Without the '' marks and then it downloaded files for about 2 hours. The problem was that it didnt download the server file or any of the files needed to change settings and such. If someone want to help me i can PM my MSN or feel free to add my steam account victorbeck1992

Your have to make the server.cfg file yourself and put in your own admin controls like sourcemod or mani admin. If you search the forums or goggle them, you'll find them.

You have to set up port forwarding and give your friend your external IP address.
