FreeBSD Stock Fps

I was wondering how many FPS FreeBSD gives without any tweaks, just fps_max 0? Does it give 1000 FPS out of the box or does it require recompiling just like linux?

I would assume a stock FreeBSD would be pretty bad (lots of fps jitter). After doing some reading on FreeBSD I found out that gettimeofday is quite slow, thus rendering it worse then other flavors of linux unless patches are applied. I could be wrong, but this would be my guess.
