Hi all on srcds forums.
I have a problem with my srcds. The server starts up fine and so on, but when i connect it times out. Connection is lost and the server is also lost in the serverbrowser. Well 5 minutes later, it shows up again in the serverbrowser. But if i connect the same happens again. I can do that over and over again. This just happens after i installed metamod and Mani Mod. So i think that the problem is related to one of the mods. Heres my server setup:
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo 2 Ghz
Ram: 2GB Kingston HyperX 800mhz
Disk: 120GB Seagate momentus 7200rpm
iNet: 3500/750 kbit/s (dl/ul)
Anyone? :-)

Im not running it on the same machine. I run my CSS at a Windows XP system, and SRCDS on Windows Server 2008 Enterprise. And btw. you can play on the same system as the server. I have tried it before. And im never going to order a gameserver from a GSP. its all crap

What game are you running?
Does it work when you remove/disable those two mods?

I think that i have figured it out why this is happening. Im sitting on the same network as the Server 2008 computer, and i think that i can only connect through LAN if im on the same network, because none of my friends have problems, with connecting from the Internet

Right. You have to connect to local servers via LAN. Doing so via your external IP could create issues.
EDIT: Cleaning up with thread of un-needed drama.
