Fast downloads! ...not so fast!
#1
So we are compressing our maps and we have a web server running as well. We have pointed our sv_downloadurl to the correct spot.

The maps ARE in fact downloading, but, not fast at ALL!

This web server is our own, not a paid one. We have lots of bandwidth, 100MB in and out (this is running from a data center).

Is there something we are missing? Is there a specific port we need to open?

Not sure if its just me, but the DL speeds I got from that were fairly slow. What kind of connection is the server on?

That's the problem I seem to be having. I guess we'll have to look into this....thanks guys.

Do you have any control panels installed? If so you might have your server throttling downloads. Also check in task manager (start->taskmgr) And go to network and see what the port speed is there. As well, simultaneously test dl while looking at the % of network used.

If that doesn't help you towards a resolution, i recommend calling your server provider.
