Hi all. I want a gameserver online. Its going to be a CSS server and i wanna know how many servere i can run on these specs at Tick100 FPS 512

Processor: Phenom X4 2,2ghz (Quad Core)
Harddisk: 15000rpm seagate cheetah 146gb (or an 160gb barracuda 7200rpm)
Ram: 4 x 1 gb Kingston HyperX PC2-8500 1066mhz

Please tell me =)

And btw is there any chance to get the fps from 512 to 1024? Please tell me!! Because many says that and chipsets only can reach 512fps!

Oh an btw. Which os would it be best to run on? Linux ubuntu 8.04 or windows server 2008?

You can run say 160 slots, split them up within the cores. Many threads on this forum explain different setups, search for would do fine. And yes, your box seems good, and try to read some of the fps configs to see if that will work for your system for 1000fps.

Whatever your comfortable in, you run it... I prefer linux (debian). But we will not go into a distribution war, cause everyone has their own preference
