couldn´t allocate dedicated server UDP port error
#1
HI all, i recently installed a dedicated server on my computer (running vista), my first problem is that i cant open the GUI mode of the server (nothing happens when i click the icon).
So i tried making a shortcut to srcds.exe and run it in the console mode with the command line:

D:
cd srcds
srcds.exe -console -game cstrike +map de_dust2 -ip <external ip> -port 27015 -maxplayers 16 -autoupdate -verify_all

But when i run the program i get the couldn´t allocate dedicated server UDP port error, i have tried to change the port to several others, i have also obviously open the ports but it wont work.

I appreciate all help i can get to fix this Smile

Use your internal IP.
And read the FAQ section Smile

Reading the faq, setting up a static ip right now.
Shouldnt i use my external ip if other player shall be able to join?

EDIT:
dont have the couldn´t allocate dedicated server UDP port error anymore,
i deleted the -ip command in my commandline, now the server has 192.168.0.101:27015 as ip (internal?) and my friends cant join the server.

Goto whatismyip.com and give that IP to your friends.

I have port forwarded the required ports for the game and server, the server ip is still 192.168.0.1:27015 instead of 213.xxxxxxx:27015.

Yes, the server will always show the internal IP, however it will advertise the external IP AND your friends should be able to connect if you set the ports right Smile
