Bus error

Hello,
i'm having trouble with my linux server

I installed the steam server. But as i wanted to start it with "./srcds_run -game cstrike +map de_dust", i got an error:
"Bus error.
"Could not read from 0xb7fc5658."
Or similar.

What does that mean?
Is my RAM damaged?

And how can i fix this?

Bus Errors usually happen cause invalid memory references. What operating system are you running? Try reinstalling it and see if it will work.

I'm running the ubuntu server edition on my server.

I've just reinstalled the server and now it works

Reinstall. Nobody should ask anything before doing it. This forum would get useless after that, though

Awesome, installations should have better error checking next time :/ I am kinda too dissappointed cause they don't full proof ther installations. Cause this issue is easy to fix, they should do more null checks instead of letting null references go by
