Hi guys,
I'm trying to find out why the servers we run sometimes have quite high choke spikes. (10 - 20)
Usuaully at the start of a round and dies down a little during the middle of round.
I'm not to sure why choke is caused so maybe some one could post me the correct answer. But my guess would be that its something to do with client wanting to send more packets than the server can take, so the server bounces them back giving off choke?
Server Spec:
Intel q6600
4GB Ram
160GB HDD
Windows server 2003
Running off that:
4x 25 Slot CS:S
2x 13 Slot CS:S
1x 32 Slot TF2
Rates are currently set as for the 100tick servers:
sv_minrate 5000
sv_maxrate 30000
sv_maxupdaterate 101
sv_minupdaterate 1
Same for the 66Tick Servers but i'm thinking they may need to be changed?
(Anything else i should change there)?
all servers have some kind of choke spikes for most of our players at start of rounds and a bit during the round.
So basically if any one could give any tips on reducing the choke bursts for our players then that would be a great help.
Thanks in advance,
Mark
