My TF2 DS not on masterlist?
#1
I am hosting my own TF2 dedicated server, but I can't find it on the Steam masterlist.

However, today I saw somebody joining, so he must've seen it on the list...

I've asked some of my friends to join, but they couldn't (timeout after 5 tries).

I am behind a router, I have a static IP, I have successfully forwarded the needed ports (tested it here: http://www.t1shopper.com/tools/port-scanner/ port 2015 is responding)

This is with the following short-cut settings:
Code:
-steam -game tf -ip 10.0.0.10 +port 27015 +heartbeat

EDIT:
Oh, and ofcourse I have sv_lan 0

So this way, I can start up my server. But if I change the settings to this:
Code:
-steam -game tf -ip <my external IP here> +port 27015 +heartbeat
The dedicated server comes op with the following error: "Couldn't allocate any server IP port."

Can somebody please help me?

You need to put your internal IP (or no IP).
There are a few other ports to forward... search the FAQ for it.

Also: DON'T USE THE STEAM DS. Use hldsupdatetool.exe

Well, as I stated in my post, when I do use my internal IP, the server doesn't show up. I will try to use hldsupdatetool.exe, maybe that will work.

EDIT:
Do I really have to use the hldsupdatetool.exe?? It's really difficult for me to update that thing, for some reason it's downloading very slowly.

EDIT2:
Ok, it's working now!!
For some reason, the Steam dedicated server doesn't work (properly), but when using the stand-alone dedicated server, people can join!

Also, a quick way to install the server is to extract the GCF's, that way you don't have to download all the data.

Thanks for your help Big Grin
