Hey any updates on this yet ClanWoof? Really waiting on the simple .config file output and kernel #..

try that, you will get similar results ;-) @TO: run this over your server while having 10 players playing (not idling) on it: http://fpsmeter.fragaholics.de and post the result here ^^

The thing what seems to be giving him such great results is mainly his hardware specification. Dual quad xeons arent exactly entry level desktop hardware, you would only produce such results from something with a similar chipset and a good processor. I bet the kernel really isn't that special at all.

I think Users means number of RCON connections and Players are sum of normal players and bots.
About the topic itself: I would like to see the important CONFIG_* parameters from .config without lots of "tutorial text" around it.

I think it's incredibly important note once again.
Northbridge Chipset has an INCREDIBLY important value when it comes to FPS stability. This guy could offer his config to everyone here and users would get shit results based on many variables. While the kernel config and system setup is important, ALWAYS buy a server grade chipset. If you have yourself an Intel Seaburg based chipset for instance, which is their highest dual-proc chipset, you can achieve 995 stable FPS with nothing more than changing your kernel HZ to 1000.

this is true (and same for windows) the motherboard nb is very important and one should never go cheep with a home nb motherboard

agreed,
using his config on other servers would have giving alot of users bad results and possible panic or os failure. you do not want to do that if your ded is at a colo without any support or no kvmip. the only people who would of benfit from this kernel if he did provided would be the ones who know what is need to tweak this to make it work. cant wait to read the tutorial to see what kind of journey he went thr to get this.

Are Intel 5100 chipset northbridge boards any good?
