[Solved] Weird port number (60152 instead of 27015)
#1
So I just started setting up my first CS:S server ever on an old windows 2000 computer through remote desktop. I followed this guide http://planethalflife.gamespy.com/View.php?view=HL2Guides.Detail&id=4&game=3#administration and everything seems to be working fine, managed to connect to my own server and had a few random people connect etc, but there is one thing thats bugging me.

As far as I know, I only opened the ports suggested in the guide, and I believe I followed all the steps quite accurately, but for some reason, my server's ip shows like this xx.xxx.xxx.xx:60152 instead of the expected xx.xxx.xxx.xx:27015 (I did put 27015 in the SRCDS shortcut cmd line etc).

Also, the only way I actualy managed to find my own server was to fire up steam on my server through the remote desktop program and try to add the server to my favoutites without any port defined, that failed first, then I hit the button again and to my amusement it did show up, but the IP was as stated above, xx.xxx.xxx.xx:60152. As far as I know, this port isn't even supposed to be open.

So, does anyone have any idea what could cause this to happen, and what I could do to get it to the 27015 port? I'm not even sure how these random people managed to connect to my server since I can't find it in any server lists etc myself. Toungue

Is it behind a router?

Problem solved. Turned on DMZ to see if that helped, it didn't, however I got a new port, something like 60100 when the router restarted, then I turned DMZ off again, and when I was gonna chekc out the server again, the port had changed to :27015 \o/
