Solaris is based off the *nix family to my knowlage...
There is a Linux version... but I have no idea if it can be ran on Solaris.

They are called Sparc...and they are very different from intel processors. Valve or a very crafty genius would have to make a Sparc version of the server. I wouldn't hold your breathe for it.

Well i'll try it out and see how it goes next holiday. I really got a good price for that computer. Heavy but if srcds works for it, that would be great

Tell the results . But really dont get your hopes up because the processors are very different.

As long as you run it on x86 or x64, it can be done. However, it's very difficult and involves installing linux inside of a 'zone' in solaris. I tried it, but it seemed needlessly complex for the benefits (security, stability). I gave up, but partly because I use a different keyboard layout and couldn't figure out how to change it.
