FreeBSD 1000FPS
#1
Hi guys,

I've recently come back to FreeBSD for source servers, and again I have to ask this question: has anybody here ever gotten a server to go past 500 fps and get to 1000? I know it's just a marketing gimmick, but people are willing to pay for it. I would just like to know what I'm doing wrong in not being able to get it to 1000FPS (I know summit has done it!)

I've recompiled the kernel to 1000hz. Putting it to like 2000hz gave me 666.7FPS :/

P.S. neither 5.x or 6.x have worked for me. I'm going to try 7.0 in a few minutes.

FreeBSD will absolutely do more than 1000FPS.

With FreeBSD it's a slightly different beast and depends on particular libraries, there's a document on the srcds forums in regards to that.
