Attracting Players
#1
Hey guys,

I've had my server up for bout two or three months, but can't get many players to join. The daily average is about 5 (har har). My connection is solid, and most players' ping are under 80. I've tried switching between custom and stock maps, but no luck. I'm not in a clan, but I do have two other admins.

Any ideas to increase the number of players? Thanks. Cool

You could try deathmatch, they are very popular.

Its quite hard to get a server popular if you don't have a clan/community behind it.

always keep at least 1 person in the server at all times. cus none looks at the servers that are empty. everyone filters to only see populated servers.

Give all your close friends admin so they are more likely to play there. Organize game nights. People will state coming over time. Creating a strong community also helps.

Please do not PM me for server related help

Try running mods on your cs:s server. Like gungame, zombiemod, deathmatch, or etc. Most players nowadays join servers with different mods and plugins. It's difficult to get a strong amount of players to join your server cuz players have already found good servers that they regularly go on. You can try doing 24/7 maps like dust2, office, etc.

I had a: 32 slots rpg dm surf server. Only played on it once, but the day after and the rest of the month it was very popular.
Allways 32/32 players on it.

A good idea is also to get a good server name: [DK]|RPG-DM|Only Surf Maps| 1ooTIC| - Works very well Big Grin

Try to get the Attension by the Name.
