srcds requirments for TF2
#1
Hello everyone.

I'm new to this community and I was appointed here by a server admin as the best place for information about Source Dedicated Servers. So I am here because I could not find the information I needed. So I ask:

What are the Minimum requirements to run an instance of srcds?

Here is the information I hope to attain from this.

How much bandwidth does having 1 person take.
How much ram is needed to run 1 instance of srcds.
how much cpu load is when running 1 instance of srcds.

Now let you tell you my plan for what I want to achieve.
I want to rent a dedicated server and i want to know how many instances i can run on the hardware. the minimum i want is:
2x 24 slot TF2 servers.
1x 16 slot TF2 server.
1X 10 slot TF2 server.

I hope i have gave enough information.
Thank you!

I'm not sure on bandwidth since I have unlimited bandwidth.
Ram use of SRCDS is minimal. I would say you want atleast a gig. However recomended would be maybe 2 gigs.

TF2 uses a LOT of CPU. With my 3.0GHz P4 I run one 24 slot TF2 server and some other smaller servers.

I would say you dual or quad core is the way to go.

i would definately go quad core.
as for hosting id find a colocation that gives you 320-500gigs a month on a 10mbit line. shouldnt be too expensive

start with that and as your servers gain popularity you can get more if needed

I think that's going to be a little tight if they get full.
Make sure the 2 24-slots servers are on different cores.
