scheduled task to restart?

hello, my server runs windows server 2003, how do i schedule it to restart every 5 days or so? at a certain time?

Hello, yes i use windows, and tcadmin to start all my servers. . . i need the server to reboot every x days. how do i go about doing that?

Sorry, Dualcore, I know you've emailed me too about this.

I have this running on my box however I gotta look to see how I did it again, really busy atm. I'll try and leave you a reply later on or tomorrow.

Right....here it goes....

Go into control panel, scheduled tasks.

If you don't have it in there, you need to install it by going to add and remove programs and click add and remove windows components. You will probably need the windows disc for this!

Anywho, one you have gone into scheduled tasks, right click in the white area, go to new then scheduled task.

Then in the run field put:
Code:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\shutdown.exe -r -f

Then in start in:
Code:
C:\WINDOWS\system32

Then go to the schedule tab and select what times you want it to restart! You can also change the stuff under settings tab if desired.

I think thats it...make sure you do the "run as" part on the first task tab, I've found it doesn't like running if you don't fill that in.

Search the tcadmin forums. There are scripts that will do it for you.
