TF2 Dedicated Server
#1
OK... (This is long but please read it I NEED HELP)

I'M sure setting up a dedicated server with beetles mod is easy? WELL the documentation makes it easy. BUT what do you do when you copy the exact instructions and it still dont work?

this is my PC SPEC/ Problem.....

MOBO = ASUS "something or other" - cant remember cant be arse to check (Obviously supports 64x2 and max 16GB RAM)
PROCESSOR = AMD 6000+ 64x2
RAM = 4GB OCZ PC6400 - 800MHZ
Disk Drives = HDD and CD/DVD ROM drive i dont think are important

OS = Vista Business 64bit - (I was thinking the 64bit might be the problem as i have never come across people talking about this on the net - but to be fair i have never searched for it :S )

right ok this is the problem...

I downloaded "BeetlesModTF2_70B.ZIP"
Extracted the file witch left me with the following folders:
0 - addons
1 - cfg
2 - materials
3 - sound

These folders should then be coppied to the required directory?

As im trying this on TF2 dedicated server i coppied the files to the following location:

D:\Steam\steamapps\steamname\source 2007 dedicated server\tf

'Obviously other folders will be different to the above'

after this i started "Team fortress 2 dedicated server" and then typed into the console "empty_version" <---- witch is ment to tell you the version that is running.

Well guess what i got a reply saying "Unknown command" "empty_version"

Am i running the correct server?

If i have coppied the files to the wrong folder to make sure i also coppied them to the following:

D:\Steam\steamapps\steamname\source dedicated server

D:\Steam\steamapps\steamname\team fortress 2\tf

everything i have tried seems to fail

maybe it has something to do with 64bit

If anyone can help me on this i would really appreciate it

First, I didn't read your whole post: sorry
Second, you are better off asking this in the BM forums. They are fast and know exactly what command to use.

The empty_version command is old and is not in the TF2 version. Check the forums for the new command.

Please do not PM me for server related help
