CS:S Dedicated Server Help -Vista User-
#1
Note: If I'm posting on the wrong section I'm deeply sorry and sorry me using my first post to "ask for help".

I haven't seen much guides for a Vista version of this but I have seen a lot of Windows Xp.
I've been following this guide: http://planethalflife.gamespy.com/View.php?view=HL2Guides.Detail&id=4&game=3#requirements
I have completed most of what the guide says and I have a mani admin mod installed onto my game. Port forwarding seems quite simple but I don't know if it works since this guide says some port ranges are messed up, which confuses me a lot. I run on a DIR-625 D-Link router and since I trust it, I don't really get confused on the ranges but this is out of curiosity. I don't think I have a static ip since I took it away and re-enabled automatic ip address' and DNS servers. Even though I said I completed most of the guide I didn't complete some parts before Mani like the RCon. For some strange reason I can't connect to my server on CS:S but I can see it clearly on my favorites and such. I am thinking Vista is blocking something else without me knowing so that the server can't host. I went to my Windows Firewall also and ported their but that didn't seem to help. I can't find any other possible solutions. I am very patient so I can wait a while or two for posts or any solutions you may have.

I'm too lazy to type down all my info so XFire did it for me. Hopefully that helps.

That's your problem, you shouldn't do that.
It's called a DEDICATED server for a reason.
