Not adding master server?
#1
Question
Hi!

I have a problem with my Linux CS:S Server.
When I start it it goes until "maxplayers set to 12", then it doesn't do anything. It doesn't add the master servers. The strange thing is it worked until a week or so ago. I also tried simply creating a new folder and re-installing the CS:S Server, but I have the same exact problem now. Any ideas?

Thank you in advance!

Any new additions to server? New hardware? New modem or router?

It doesnt really matter that it isnt adding master servers, as long as you and the other players can see it in the All Seeing Eye or the server list.

Can others see your server using ASE or Find Servers tab? If they can, then dont worry about it. If they cant, post back.

Hi!

Thanks for your reply!
No changes were made to the server. The server is not showing up on the server list, it just says "not responding" and nobody can connect to it.
Thanks for your help!

On the router that your using, make sure that UDP PORT "27015" is open and forwarded to the appropriate system. Are you able to see it using the "LAN" tab in steam from another computer in the network?

Also Try this:

Use this line to start your server:

Code:
./srcds_run -game cstrike +map de_dust2 +maxplayers 12

then, after it stops at "Maxplayers set to 12", type this in:

Code:
status

You should get a response like this:

Code:
hostname:  FC3 ZOMBIE Match **No LAG**
build   :  2340
udp/ip  :  127.0.0.1:27015
map     :  de_dust at: 0 x, 0 y, 0 z
players :  14 (16 max)

# userid name uniqueid connected ping loss state adr
# 2 "ZOMBIE Irwin" BOT active
# 3 "ZOMBIE Marvin" BOT active
# 4 "ZOMBIE Orin" BOT active
# 5 "ZOMBIE Ferris" BOT active
# 6 "ZOMBIE Fergus" BOT active
# 7 "ZOMBIE Bob" BOT active
# 8 "ZOMBIE Tim" BOT active
# 9 "ZOMBIE Bill" BOT active
#10 "ZOMBIE Shawn" BOT active
#11 "ZOMBIE Walt" BOT active
#12 "ZOMBIE Clarence" BOT active
#13 "ZOMBIE Wesley" BOT active
#14 "ZOMBIE Dean" BOT active
#15 "ZOMBIE Ernie" BOT active

PS > The "TCP/IP", the "PLAYERS" and the "HOSTNAME" fields will be different, depending on what you have set for your server.

If you do get th input above, it means that the server is up. If not, post back here.
