Garry's Mod and SRCDS Help?
#1
Well, this weekend, I thought that I would try my luck and migrate my Half Life Two Deathmatch Server, my Counter Strike Server, my Team Fortress Two Server, my Garry’s Mod Server, and My Crysis Server over to a Linux Distribution… (I know that Crysis is not migrating to Linux, so I’ll just have to take that down…) So, I installed Fedora—because I’m a Fedora fan boy… The Fedora version I have installed is the newest version—Release 9 (Codename Sulphur). After the install, I zipped onto the SRCDS site and I followed the directions on the site to install a Linux server. So, at first I got an uncompress error which was quickly solved with help to the forums! Then, I followed up with the HL2DM download, which was quick and easy! Then, I went into the text editor, and made a shell script, and the server started. I thought all of it would be “fine and dandy” but all was not… That server was fine but my process of installing the GMOD was—and is hell! I checked and double checked the lines of script to start the server and it is fine—the sever installs but will not run! So, that is basically where I am right now—and I can’t come up with any other ideas!

If you want to know anything else, just reply!

Thanks,

Matt Anderson
