Srcds problem
#1
Hello,
since i am new to srcds i do not understand all the things.

My problem is:

If i start my srcds server for Counterstrike Source it is showing in the lan list,

but when i put in the console "connect xx.xx.xx.xx:27015" it keeps stuck at parsing game info or something.

now when you normally join a server and see your console it says:

connecting to xx.xx.xx.xx:27015
connected to xx.xx.xx.xx:27015

but if i want to join to my own server it says:

connecting to xx.xx.xx.xx:27015
connected to xx.xx.xx.xx:27***

its connected to a random port,
so its inpossible to open 999 ports.

i need something to keeps the connected to .....
to be the same port as connecting to .....

my startup line:

srcds.exe -console -game cstrike +sv_lan 0 +map de_dust +maxplayers 14 -port 27015 -autoupdate

and i opened much ports for srcds but without luck.
it aint showing in the master server list and no 1 can connect.

but i can join by lan so it must be a router problem.
the server worked a few days and then the other day its broke.

i hope this is enough information.

Greetings,
JunkyXL

- Check port forwarding
- Check the firewall on the server

Forward following ports to server/ pc where CS:S is running (run >cmd >ipconfig):

UDP 1200 (used for friends service)
UDP 27000 to 27015 inclusive
TCP 27020 to 27039 inclusive

Add -ip <ip adres> parameter to startupline ( http://whatismyip.com/ ). Remove sv_lan 0 (add to your server.cfg)

Thanks exactly what NOT to do.
That will cause even more problems. Remove any ap in your start up line.

If port forwarding isn't working, try to DMZ the server.

Yes, yes it will. Hes behind a router, if he assigns an external IP he will get an error message. What he should do is -ip (from ipconfig).

My server has no -ip in the start up and I can rcon it with NO problems. However mine is not behind a router. It's hosted at my college... which is awesome.
