[Resolved]Could not establish connection to steam server
#1
EDIT:so i found that apparently it cannot connect to the steam master servers(?)
no clue why not

so i have been running a server for a while, probably 2 years now, and i took a little break from it while building a new computer, and i recently wanted to start hosting again. so i go to my srcds directory, start up srcds.bat (the server watchdog, launches my server with the same command line i always use) and try to join my server. the problem is, i cant connect. its not showing up anywhere, not even in my lan tab.

all my ports are forwarded correctly, i take the ip directly from where the server says it is running and forward that one because i have 2 internet connections, a wired and a wireless.

so i forwarded the ports on 192,168.1.147, and i still cant connect. i have also tried updating the server numerous times, it says it is up to date and all the files are verified.

my command line is:
srcds.exe -console -game cstrike +map de_dust2 +ip 192.168.1.147 +maxplayers 16 -insecure -tickrate 100 -autoupdate

please help i CANT FIGURE THIS OUT!

Heres a screengrab to help

UPDATE:
if i got to favorites i can add my server by searching for games hosted at my local adress and find it. but if i enter in the exact ip with port i cant find it. and i cant connect to it still.

Your port forwarding is WRONG.
Forward to your WIRED connection's IP.
Windows always choses the wired connection over the wireless.
Plus, running a server on wireless is BAD.

Please do not PM me for server related help

thanks that was it lol
i thought that running it through a network bridge might mess it up, but after a few restarts it worked fine.
thanks for the response!
