Ubuntu 7.10 Server is lagging - Windows runs fine

Do you build your own kernel or do you use "apt-get install linux-rt" for the realtime-kernel ?

yes its run fine on windows, but i don't think that it run 300-500 fps.
so the upload my be the problem.

As I said before, srcds runs at 420-500 FPS on Windows, sometimes it's a little bit more than 500 !

How is your settings for the nic.
when your hosting home, your server ma by behind a router,and the
dns is normally your gateway addres.
it some times help to add the dns of your isp.
(i know you don't do this in win)

I have this same exact problem. A TF server runs fine in windows but its stuttery on ubuntu 7.10. Ping times are decent CPU usages isn't that high. I am just as stumped as you!

Maybe a different linux build is the solution then
