People can't connect to my server...

Sad
So there my problem. This is how I run my srcds:

c:\srcds\srcds.exe -console -game cstrike +map cs_007_temple_beta -maxplayers 20 -autoupdate -insecure

I can join my server but others can't... I'm playing on my deskop PC and the server is running on the Laptop: Core 2 Duo 1.7GHz, Firewall is down on both PCs. When i give the IP to my friends they can't join... I've been to whatismyip.com and typed status in console to see it. They say the server is not responding. The difference in my computer's ip and the Laptop is in one number. I can also see the server in the Internet list and LAN list in-game. The Laptop recieves Internet connection trough router (Wireless).
Internet is also funny available on it(the laptop T_T).

So...

Could you plz help me guys :S?

Sounds like you need to portforward.
Go to http://www.portforward.com/
Next click guides look for Port Forwarding guides by router. Pick the router (know the Brand AND Model) and then go to Steam Server under the list of programs. Then follow the guide.

EDIT** You can buy a program off them call PFConfig and it basically does the same thing in its process, pick a router and model, pick the program but it will automatically forward them so you can open them as needed and get more security. Also you probably won't need your firewall down on the pc you want to play on.

Have Fun!

No i mean... In the guide when im portforwarding... Do I put the Deskop's IP in the thing or the Laptop's...

Cuz to portforward the 2 ports I need to give the Private IP of the connection... Wich's comp IP do I put in?

Laptop's IP is different from the Deskop's...

Yes DMZ is the easiest but if you wanna forward the ports, just use the IP address of the computer/laptop where the dedicated files are located and being run.

Running a server on a laptop connected through wireless is probably a BAD idea... The lag will probably be VERY bad...

Please do not PM me for server related help
fqdn Wrote:if you've seen the any of the matrix movies, a game server is not all that different. it runs a version of the game that handles the entire world for each client connected. that's the 2 sentence explanation.

Yes I do have it wireless

Thats why it lags. Plug it into an ethernet port on your router and there should be less lag.
