server fps locked at 330 on source
#1
Ya I've been messing around with a spare box I have. I installed CentOS 5.1 on it and recompiled the kernel to 1000hz np. I'm able to run 1.6 servers up to 1000fps np, but when I try running a source server it won't go any higher than 330fps.
My Command Line is:
./srcds_run -console -game cstrike +maxplayers 12 +map de_dust -tickrate 100 -autoupdate +fps_max 500

I just find it odd that I can do it on the 1.6 servers np, and yet it's limited on source...

what options did you choose in the kernel rebuild? tickless, dynamic? did you edit the param.h and jiffies.h?

If your max is 500, it wont go higher then a certain amount. Thats why if you are trying to get 512, put fps_max 600. Just take out the fps max.

centos is based on fedora/red hat so the instructions will be similar.

if you want to know what you're doing, read this thread:

if you just want to do it, this thread is based off of the above post(s) and has the extras for 1000fps. if you just want 500fps just do the above.
