Make sure your router is up to date.
And I would give your server a static local IP address, just an FYI.

How can i know my router is up to date?
And i followed already this guide http://www.portforward.com/networking/static-vista.htm but i don't have vista. Didn't it work for me because i don't have vista?

No, it works fine without vista.
To update the router you need to go to the makers website and check the more recent firmware version and make sure your router has it. Be very careful when updating those. You can easily brick it if you make a mistake.

I updated my firmware but it still doesn't work good. I was playing with my brother on the server (who lives in the same house) and a few peopled joined the server. I asked how they joined it and what the ip was, and they say they found it in server list and they give me the same ip that i already thaught it was. But when i try to add it to my favourites it says that server is not responding and my friends can't join too when they try to connect with friends network of steam.

Well here is the thing. You are on the same network as your server. So you cannot view from the outside. You can only view it with the LAN tab and as with anyone else on your network. So since you join through the network, your friends view your internal IP address, like 192.168.X.XXX or whatever your is. It will be up, your friends just wont be able to join you through friends.
There is a work around, I found out accidently. I changed my ISP to FIOS so I got their sh***y router. I plugged in my old router into the FIOS router and I connected through my old router. My server however connected through FIOS's router so technically I was not on the same network as my server because that network was 192.168.1.X and my old router was 192.168.0.X. So I added it to my favorites and eventually I got rid of my old router and now I can connect the my server through the external and internal ip . Not really worth buying an extra router just for that, but if you have an extra one like I did, go for it. realchamp Wrote:Hazz Wrote:Has someone helped you on these forums? So my friends cant join true the friends menu, but when i give them the external ip, they can join my server?
