Online Server Issue (Help!)
#1
Sad
Right well. First off let me tell you this isnt your everyday, "oh god my server is not in the list" post.. I've done research for almost a week now in trying to get my server working but failed.

My problem is that my srcds garrysmod server does not seem to be going public.. Its working fine because i can see it over the lan network, ive joined myself, but no luck with anybody outside my network to get in via internet.

Ive gave them specific IP's, Server names to search for. Maps. etc. But nothing. Ive tweaked with sv_region a few times but still nothing.

All correct ports have been forwarded , 27020 and 27015 ( TCP & UDP ) to a STATIC ip address.

Dedicated server so that heartbeat command dont work. sv_lan is set to 0.

My ISP is 'Be'. http://www.bethere.co.uk/

Using Be's router, with built in modem. Ports are forwarded correctly. No mistakes. Reset router. Still nothing

Turned off Windows firewall on the machine its running on but still no luck.

The thing i find strange is in the srcds console it says:

Connection to Steam servers sucessful.
VAC secure mode is activated
Adding master server 69.28.151.162:27011
Adding master server 72.165.61.190:27011

Frankly i'm at a loss, getting stressed out and i need some help please. If you need any more info, feel free to ask Smile

Thanks in advance.

Chris

DMZ means what?

It directs all unknown traffic to a IP address you specify.

Technically, no.

Home broadband routers will typically use DMZ host (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demilitarized_zone_%28computing%29#DMZ_host) - all ports will be exposed to an outside network, typically the internet.

True DMZ is usually an extra layer of protection by moving outside-accessible servers to a separate subnetwork, and not allowing direct access or communication to the internal network.

So. If DMZ seems to be out of the question then. Is there something else i could do?

lol.. i don't mean to do it intentionally - i just like people to know about some little misconceptions! What if you hadn't realised what a DMZ host was and run one without a firewall? Toungue
