Question
I was searching for a similar case as mine and came across this old thread. So instead of starting another one, I just ask my question here. Cool

I read through the posts, yet I am still confused, because from what I read in this thread, things seemed to be changing every so often...

On my sandbox at home (my Linux SRCDS, for testing only. My main servers are with a hosting, and they are Windows SRCDS), often I see it complains about not being able to execute the .cfg file of the current map (such as cp_dustbowl.cfg), because simply it doesn't exit.

My questions are:

1)
Is that we are suppose to create the map .cfg file ourselves? And as of today, which location should the file be in? Is it the "cfg/" folder, or the "maps/" folder?

2)
What is the main purpose for the map .cfg file then? Is it suppose to be for overriding the cvars in the server.cfg?

For example, if my rotation server has three maps (cp_dustbowl, cp_granary, ctf_2fort), and I want to enable all talk by default, for just ctf_2fort, then I have sv_alltalk as off in server.cfg, create a ctf_2fort.cfg, and set sv_alltalk as on, am I correct?

If so, that means I can do the same for map time (mp_timelimit) for each map, thus cp_dustbowl for one hour, cp_granary for two hours, and ctf_2fort for 90 minutes?

Thanks for your help.

1)
You suppose create one yourself. It's not necessary. However, for getting those errors disappearing, you're suppose do it.

2)
Yes you're correct, that's exactly what it's suppose to do. Smile
