Myself/bots cant connect to server

I just put SRCDS on my laptop (its on a lan with my PC) and I cant get a bot to join the game or myself join the game. At first I thought it was an issue of conflicting steam usernames but then i deleted and reinstalled with a new name, same thing. If I add a bot, it kicks it immediately "Kicked by console" and if I join it says it wont let me in because I dont have a valid steam ticket, though I can join any internet game. This happens both in console and GUI.....help!!!

whats your bot settings from your server.cfg or autoexec.cfg

I dont think I have either of those, that might be my problem, do you have a link to how to make one?

Those files are pretty essential though, especially server.cfg. Are you sure you don't have them?

Alright, I did that and put it in the folder, its still doing similar things. With bots it says "Dropped Dave from the server. Reason: Kicked by Console"

Now when I try to join the progress bar goes a little farther, it even says I connect in the server console, then it says "Invalid STEAM UserID Ticket" and drops me

Is there any other file I need to change? possibly change the port?

What is the full command you use to start the server? Have you deleted the ClientRegistry.blob file? When/where does the server says it is kicking the bot?

Ive tried both in GUI which is pretty self explanitory, and in console by srcds.exe -console -game cstrike +map de_nuke -maxplayers 12

If the syntax is wrong excuse it, i looked at a guide when typing it in so it was correct.
