Having the same issues, i cant even get a console window to come up... I double click on the shortcut and it does the hourglass for about a second then dies.
I have reinstalled fresh about 15 times now, I even took the liberty of installing the hldsupdatetool and the server files on my home pc; starts first go.. blah

Problem is all cross referenced all the files from my home computer with my server and in the respect of file size and quanity they match perfect. Lastly, I run 3 other servers flawlessly on my box (CS:S Servers) the one that wont even start a TF2 Console..

Been battling this for about 4 days now, this will be my last day trying to resolve it

Make sure you are installing the TF2 stuff in a different folder than your other hl2 game servers. TF2 use a different version of the source engine.

For example if you have a cs:s server setup in c:\srcds, you don't want to install TF2 into c:\srcds. Try installing it somewhere else?....c:\tf2

Appreciate the info but after days of troubleshooting i can assure you the srcds.exe from either works to start CS at least. But yah, I of course created a seperate directory for the TF2 install on more than 15 occasions now; no success.

aye i have all my servers located in seperate servers. It just seems to be that only TF2 does not want to run as a server.

Hey, just thought i would comment back. I solved my error of "Failed to Load Launcher.dll" by using the following steps.

1) Re-install TF2 Server into fresh directory
2) Create an update.bat file with the following information
Quote: cd\
cd TF2
date/t
time/t
hldsupdatetool -command update -game "tf" -dir:\tf2
time/t
@pause
and of course change the second line to your directory of where you installed the server, and change the 5th line directory to the same.

3) after it updates, hit it a few more times just to make sure it is done.
4)next open up your server directory/orangebox/bin and copy those folders to server directory/orangebox

Those were the steps that i took to get it to work. There might be an easier way but i couldnt find anything Rolleyes
