Invalid UserID Ticket

I followed all of your instructiosn on updating and everything and i STILL can't connect to my server.... this is so gay, what was VALVe thinking when they made it this hard to have to play on your own server...

EDIT: I did everything... changed my clientport opened up every steam port and DS ports, nothing ******* works! THIS IS SO F'ING ANNOYING! VALVe GET A CLUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I forgot to say that i am getting the "Invalid UserID Ticket" error....

im trying to run a hl2mp ds.... why did valve/steam make it so hard to run a server on one computer and connect to it on the other... jesus this makes doom3 looks good(server running wise)!

Make sure you're connecting you the LAN tab. You won't be able to connect to it as an "internet server" atlesat I wasn't able to. and using the lan tab worked for me.

Connect using your internal LAN IP (192.168 ...) and not your WAN ip, should work. Or as milksponge said use the LAN tab in steam to connect.

This has more to do with network protocols than it does Valve's programming.

Stealth: I am sorry for my rude behavior, but i was really pissed. Somone over IRC told me to try connecting to my internal ip and it worked BTW, your tuorials kick ass!

Its because your server is broadcasting on your ip address and your trying to connect back though it.
