Is there a way to show the traffic of a Linux SuSe 9.0 Server through SSH or Confixx? I'm a noob at Linux stuff.

you can probably use mrtg which is web based. or you can see how much you've recieved via /sbin/ifconfig

This works, but it will reset when you reboot or restart your network.

iptables -L -v| grep Chain

yes, but thats only IF iptables is compiled in the kernel and is installed. linux noobs won't know how to do this Toungue

Most distros have iptables compiled in the kernel by default,
unless you have a 2.2 kernel or lower, then it would be ipchains
