When my server has players in it the map changes every 35 minutes like I want, runs great, but when its empty it sets on the same round untill someone joins, without a mapchange. Its been sitting on aztec for 2 hours now. Does anyone know how to fix/troubleshoot this?
OS : FreeBSD 4.10
CPU : ASUS P4-3.0GHz 800MHz FSB HyperThreading
RAM : 1GB RAM
HD 1 : 40GB HD 7200rpm

It appears to be a steam "feature"... the map will not cycle untill someone joins the server for the first time.
After there's been traffic in the server, the maps will cycle on time weather there's been players in that map or not (in my experience).
Bots do count for "traffic." One thing you could do after (re)starting your server is to add a bot and then kick it (if you don't have the time to login yourself).

yeah, i noticed bots work, but i dont liek bots, and the people whp play dont want bots.. i dont give out rcon, and no time to keep doing it myself every map or so.. gah..
they should have a command to disable that.. if everyone leaves due to a bad map, its going to be stuck on that bad map and keep others from joining.

take the 'bad map' out of rotation and give it a spanking?

we use votes, and i have never taking a default map out of the list.
Who wants to have their server idle on one map? theres mods for 1.6 and below to make the maps change faster when the servers empty, so what does that tell ya? map changes are good!

i know, ive just had a bad day, and things just keep agervating me.. spanking is out of the qustion, dont beleave in it, maybe a few dozen swift kicks or so.. but no spankin..
So i take it theres no cvar or anything to keep it from idling like this?
i tried the bot idea, but the bots dont get kicked unless its to make a spot for more players, 10 people playing and 2 bots..
It would be better if the bots left as people join, not when the server fills and needs more slots, i mean, who wants to play on a server with 13 people and two bots?

add one bot, set him to fill, so that when 1 player joins then the bot will leave
set bot players to 1
