Specifying VAC port
#1
How do you specify the VAC port in srcds for windows? The -steamport parameter, which works fine in Linux, crashes the server, and the -sport parameter that works with hlds doesn't do anything.

that enables VAC2, he wants to change the port that VAC2 uses.
it is -steamport but i dunno why it crashes the server.

asn as you said -sport works fine for hlds because its only for hlds.

I'm boggled with this, see if there is anything on the steamport flag in windows srcds on the steampowered forums.

I've already checked there. Only has a reply to a post from May 2005 where a poster states that the -steamport command kills their server too. Also tried the HLDS mailing list - the replys were none too helpful, they just insisted that the command in srcds was -sport. It doesn't seem like V have anyone on the list anymore.

Contacted Steam support too, only to get a response a few days later telling me that they 'cannot provide in depth support for the dedicated server' and I would do best to post to the HLDS list (...), and srcds.com. No idea where else to go as far as support and submitting bug reports go.

Reaching the point of self induced hair removal. Perhaps I should try some @valvesoftware.com emails from the hlds list that I've archived from a few years back.

I emailed Alfred Reynolds - got a response saying that they'll look into it.
