Downloading Maps /Decals

Hey everyone, when i try to install maps. Alot of time the map wont download for everyone. Like it will say your map differs from the server or something when they dont even have the map in the first place. Its weird because it is like a variety of this happening. Any thoughts on this?

Now onto the bigger issue im having lol.. i want to get decals installed on my server so that i have like banners around the maps in our pub. I was wondering how you get the transparent and if there is like a certain color was needed to make it transparent.

Any help with both these issues will be greatly appreciated.

The map probably differs cause of the version they have depending on the map, they will have to delete the version they have and download yours.
As for transparent decals, i make them all the time and love it. You use photoshop and doa bunch of stuff. If you want me to explain i can but ill need more time to do it. possibly later today or this weekend. If you dont wanna know or already know, i can fix your sprays for you in transparent format and send them back to u. Let me know.

BuIIet it would be so awsome if i could send you the file i need to be a decal and stuff if you could do it i would be greatly appreciative!

This is the picture i want .. i want it inverted so the text is black and then take out all the white and make it transparent but i dont want the border there eaither i just want the inner logo and the rest to be transparent. I did this but i could not get it to be transparent or to even show up as a decal on the maps.

Thats perfect!! Is there a way to convert the tga file into vtf?

if you have the source sdk there is a batch file called tga2vtf found in "\sourcesdk\bin"

Well there is another way to convert to .vtf. I use a program called VTF Edit. I uploaded the setup file to my website and ill leave it up till bout monday cause i dunno where the original file in online (think the site is down) but its pretty self explatory. If u got any ?s just leave another post.
