Okay here is my prob i have made my server and everythign is great i join and i can see it. But wen i give others my ip they cant see it and cant connect. Wat do i do? please i need some help on this!

Whats your startup line? are you behind a router with all ports forwarded?

wat do u mean startup line and ports forwarded sorry i am noob wen it comes to routers. i do have a router. and i have made dedicated servers were people joined but now they cant wit the srcds. can u help?

your start up line, what are you using when you execute srcds.exe, like -game cstrike +ip xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx etc
if you're behind a router, you need certain ports to be forwarded to the box running the dedicated server in order for the srcds to communicate with the outside, ie. steam starting 9/24/2006 if your problem has been solved please edit your first post and add [solved] to the begining of the title. well my startup line is this C:\HLServer\srcds.exe -console -game cstrike +map de_dust +maxplayers 6 -autoupdate . wat i noe is that i ran a dedicated on the steam gui and people connected so should it make a diff?

ok, try adding +ip xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
replace all the xxx with your internal IP which is something like 192.168.0.1 starting 9/24/2006 if your problem has been solved please edit your first post and add [solved] to the begining of the title. Thanks.

ok i did that could u see if u can see it on ur computer the ip is 192.168.1.34 and its name is Biohazard's test server

The outside cannot see you 192.168.1.34 thats a private ip under your router, people can only connect using your internal router, YOU on the other hand connect using your internal ip

You need to use your intenal IP (192.168.1.34) to connect to your server, others must use your external IP you can find this out using http://www.whatismyip.com/

ok so here it is 65.11.93.252. do i put this in place of the +ip xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx thing or just give people that ip?

your +ip should look like
Code: +ip 192.168.1.34keep in mind, if the server is the same as the game client, you should change the port to say Code: -port 27020starting 9/24/2006 if your problem has been solved please edit your first post and add [solved] to the begining of the title. Thanks.
