IP Error, Server not found
#1
Hi all,

finished installing CS:S server this morning and when I start my server
I get the following text;

Code:
Auto detecting CPU
Using default binary.
Auto-restarting the server on crash

Console initialized.
Game.dll loaded for "Counter-Strike: Source"
maxplayers set to 8
Network: IP 255.255.255.255, mode MP, dedicated Yes, ports 27015 SV / 27005 CL
Executing dedicated server config file
Error: Material "sprites/bubble" : proxy "AnimatedTexture" not found!
Section [Scenes]: 0 resources total 0 bytes, 0.00 % of limit (2.10 MB)
couldn't exec banned_user.cfg
couldn't exec banned_ip.cfg
Adding master server 207.173.177.11:27011
Adding master server 68.142.72.250:27011
Connection to Steam servers successful.
   VAC secure mode is activated.

everything looks fine.. right?
but what about the "Network: IP 255.255.255.255" ??

shouldn't it say either "127.0.0.1" or "192.168.1.101" ??

I've tried with -ip xx.xx.xx.xx and also with a +
in the command line and none of them did any difference..

running on Fedora Core 5, iptables disabled, just running hardware firewall with all
CS tcp and udp ports forwarded..

anyone who has any ideas?
thank you all in advance!

EDIT:
my subnet is "255.255.255.0", so it shouldnt be anything around there that would be any probs right?

type status on console and look out wich ip it has.

run as root:
ifconfig to search wich ips are binded to eth0
then start server again with option: -ip XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX //according to your ip.

I have the exact same problem! Just like you, I finished the install this morning and ran the server and it says the lan IP is 255.255.255.255. I tried using the -ip switch and using the ip of eth0, but I still could not see the server on my other computer. I have no idea what to do...
