Here is my update command, I just used it last night and worked....

start hldsupdatetool -command update -game "Counter-Strike Source" -verify_all -dir C:\srcds

I have it in a .bat file to make updating easy.

Hope it helps/

you're kidding right?  if you read any part of that site, you could have figured out that .bat (batch files) are used to run commands that you normally would type out in the command line.  since hldsupdatetool is run from the command line all you need to do is make a batch file with your options so you don't have to type the whole thing each time you want to run it. see the link here: http://www.srcds.com/db/engine.php?subaction=showfull&id=1097362093 at the bottom is a batch file that does deal with css.
