How to set up custom fields properly?
#1
Hey everyone, hitting a wall with my CRM setup in Bitrix24 and hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I need to store some very specific client data that the default options just do not cover, and I am tired of using workarounds with generic text boxes. What approach gives the most flexibility without breaking the whole system or needing a developer every time I tweak something? Trying to keep it clean and functional, so any advice on structuring this properly would be solid.

Totally get the frustration, default settings in Bitrix24 are way too rigid once you move beyond basic contact info. The real power comes when you understand how string, integer, boolean, and enumeration properties actually behave, because picking the wrong type messes up your filters and automation triggers down the line. A practical guide to Bitrix24 custom field types explains all these property variations and their behavior, you can dig into the details here http://roboteka24.com/blog/bitrix24-custom-field-types/ .

I wasted weeks overcomplicating mine with too many dropdowns. Start simple with just three or four well named fields, run a couple real reports, and only then add complexity. You will thank yourself later.
