What's new in Designcenter NX 2512.3002
2D Manikin enhancements for two-wheelers
You can now specify how to position the feet of a rider on a two-wheeled vehicle. This helps you design rider postures more accurately in compliance with the JASO T006 standards. Use the new Pedal Type list to select from two pedal type options: Floor or Peg. When you choose the Floor option, Designcenter defines the position of the rider's feet using the Accelerator Heel Point (AHP) and the shoe plane angle. When you choose the Peg option, Designcenter uses the Foot Rest Peg Point (FPP) and Toe Pedal Point (TPP) coordinates to position the rider's feet accurately. This flexibility allows you to define a 2D manikin for two-wheelers, such as scooters with floor pedals and motorcycles that have footrests that look like pegs. Designcenter now automatically computes the value of neck angle for both JASO standard rider sizes and user-defined custom sizes and displays it in the 2D Manikin wizard. For standard JASO sizes, Designcenter optimizes the neck angle automatically. When you create custom rider sizes, you can modify the value of computed neck angle if needed.
Eyellipse enhancements
Designcenter now automatically calculates the value of the neck angle. In the output, Designcenter now generates a grip point (G-Point).
For vehicles of all classes:
- Designcenter automatically calculates the neck angle. You can view this value in Information Window. The Neck Angle option, which was previously used to specify the neck angle, is now removed from the Vehicle Parameters page of the Eyellipse wizard.
- In the output, Designcenter generates a G-Point for the JASO T005 standards. Designcenter displays this point for vehicles of Class 2W and hides it for vehicles of all other classes.

Rotation support for cableway patterns and space reservations
Starting withMechanical Routed System Designer 2512.3000, the Cableway Pattern command will include orientation controls for rectangular patterns and space reservations. These options let you dynamically rotate an entire multi-tier pattern as a rigid block while applying it to an Electrical Topology Path (ETP). In addition, when you apply standalone space reservations to an ETP, you can individually adjust the orientation of each reservation.
Note: Use the Reposition Orientation Control option to reposition the orientation controls on one or more paths. The order in which the option cycles the orientation controls is based on the XYZ coordinates of the path origins, starting from the lowest to the highest XYZ value.
Capital 3DE integration with Electrical Routed System Designer
The Electrical Routed System Designer application can be coupled with the Capital 3DE interface. You can install and interact with the Capital 3DE application within the context of Designcenter to view, analyze, and annotate Capital wiring designs in a 3D environment.

This enables Capital design engineers to collaborate with Designcenter engineers by exposing Capital wiring integrator capabilities like Design Tree, Routing Assistant, Back Annotate, and Harness Management inside Electrical Routed System Designer, wherein Capital supplies all the electrical connection algorithms for a 3D model design.
Project objectives
These are some key project objectives:
- Allow Capital to use 3D routing spline information to derive paths with 3D constraints.
- Identify all harness data available for selection as part of the comprehensive routing context to determine which harnesses are needed to build a platform.
- Allow cross-probing between the Capital data and 3D objects in the Designcenter graphics window.
- Collect PLMXML, HX2ML, and all required metadata for each harness assembly.
- Identify when a 3D harness topology is modified and needs to be updated in the Capital data model.
- Establish design rules and actions that trigger an update in the Capital harness design.
The overall objective is to mesh the Capital 3DE interface with the Designcenter user interface so users feels like they are working within one seamless application.
New Designcentercustomer defaults
The following customer defaults are provided for running the Capital add-on in Electrical Routed System Designer:
- Activate Capital at Startup
- determines whether the Capital add-on automatically starts when you launch a Designcenter session.
- Capital Install Location
- specifies the search path to the Cable Router installation files.
The Capital add-on
After the Capital application is installed and its installation path is configured, selecting the Capital tool option accesses to the add-on.

The Capital add-on activates the Capital Wiring Integrator (CWI) and displays its interface commands inside Electrical Routed System Designer. It also enables the Designcenter and the Capital Wiring Designer applications to communicate with each other. All user interface capabilities present in the CWI dialogs will be functional inside Designcenter and reflect the user interface actions as though they originate from the Designcenter application itself.
Capital tab on the Ribbon bar
When the Capital add-on is activated, the Capital tab with its four commands appear on the Ribbon bar.
