I’ve been trying to understand how to screen record Crunchyroll, mainly out of curiosity about how different devices handle recording when DRM is involved. I’ve noticed that some streaming platforms automatically block recording or show a black screen, so I’m wondering how consistent that behavior is across Crunchyroll. Has anyone here tested various devices like Windows PCs, Macs, Android phones, or iPhones to see which ones allow any form of recording without glitches?
I’m also curious whether specific settings make a difference. Do things like hardware acceleration, display adapters, or browser choices affect whether the screen turns black during recording? And does using a free third-party recorder change anything compared to built-in tools offered by Windows or macOS? I’ve heard mixed opinions about audio too — some people say the sound records fine, while others mention distortion or timing issues.
Another point I’m trying to figure out is video quality. If someone does manage to record, even for testing purposes, does the output stay smooth, or does it lag or drop frames? Does Crunchyroll update often enough that methods which worked before suddenly stop working?
