Traditional gateways won’t disappear soon, but solutions based on OpenBanking are becoming more popular thanks to lower costs, faster transfers, and better transparency. If you’re building for the long term, I’d suggest implementing both: keep a traditional gateway for card users, and also add OpenBanking as an option. This way, you can satisfy different customer preferences without losing flexibility.
