Hi all,
Running public SRCDS servers has always come with the risk of DDoS or spoofing attacks. I’m wondering what the current best practices are to protect a Source Dedicated Server.
- Are there firewall rules or kernel settings that really help?
- Is running SRCDS behind a game server proxy (like TCPShield or similar) worth it?
- Do modern hosting providers offer built-in protections that actually work for Source engine traffic?
Would love to hear how you’re securing your servers nowadays.
