I know 99.99% sure that you are either using an illegal copy of windows 2003 server edition that DOES NOT function correctly or simply DOES NOT know how to install windows 2003 server eidtion on your computer if you are using a legal copy. The best windows os is windows 2003 server edition.

If you want to go with linux, go to linux forum and read some posts linux os and what linux os people prefer.

Are you using windows 2003 or windows 2003 server? Because in your other post you said windows 2003.

I would recommend linux, and if not that, Windows 2003 server as I have seen it used widley among people and buissness that run gaming services and also exaxxion has recommended it, and he has some sound advice.

I was using a legal copy of windows 2003 server and it wouldn't run the srcds server.

lol did you at least use a shortcut to start srcds.exe? if you just double clicked srcds.exe and made this post, you should hit yourself in the wall a few times and ask yourself "Why do I exist?"

I created a shortcut on the desktop and add the command line to it. It's just the windows 2003 server is too hard to use.

ummmmm.... linux is much harder if you've never used it before, especially if you're used to windows. if you got srcds to install then you can run it, if it installed and won't run you're doing something wrong.

not to be picky but in your console snippet you have this:
Code:
C:\valve\hlserver\SRCDS\cstrike

then you say your startup is this:
Code:
"C:\SRCDS\srcds.exe" -console -game cstrike +fps_max 600 -autoupdate -pingboost 3 +maxplayers 16 -insecure -exec server.cfg

just where did you install srcds? and are you sure you are starting the right thing? also i don't think pingboost exists in srcds, it was only for linux in hlds if i'm not mistaken.

C:\SRCDS\srcds.exe and I got a pingboost that works for srcds for windows and the C:\valve\hlserver is where I got the HldsUpdateTool.exe installed at.

post a screenshot for the output of "ipconfig /all" and then a screenshot of your routers port forwarding page. sounds to me like your server is on DHCP got a new IP which busts the port forwarding. you don't have windows firewall or anything turned on do you?

calm down exaxxion i bet you anything hes talkin about a program that modifies windows kernel timer resolution. Also known as pingboosting. @BADASS when you open that program does it make your fps go from say 256 to around 500?

are you talking about media player?

yeah the pingboosting proggies do essentially the same thing as windows media player...when you open windows media player or a pingboosting program it changes the windows kernel timer resolution which yields a huge boost in FPS.
