New update of SRCDS : segmentation fault ...
#1
Hi everybody !

I got a big problem with the new update of CS:S on my linux box : as always, I launched the srcds_run command with the "-autoupdate" argument. Server started, but I can't connect to it.
It says that server version is too old.

Tried to restart the server, and now it tells me that :

Code:
Checking bootstrapper version ...
./srcds_run: line 423:  2464 Segmentation fault      (core dumped) $CMD -game "$GAME"
mar jan 18 10:31:23 CET 2005: Steam Update failed, ignoring.

Thanks in advance for your help ! Cool

does it work without the autoupdate argument?

Server runs, writing "Auto-restarting the server on crash".

Then when trying to connect I have :

Code:
[TEMP] Server out of date.

try running the update via ./steam then retry with autoupdate there maybe somethign buggy with your srcds_run

Perhaps its failing because the update servers are full?

don't think so ...

BUT, I tried something : to create another user than "root" to execute the server, waiting to see if it works ... Wink

I got the same problem, one of your files namely, gameinfo.txt is wacked. you are better off getting a ./steam update to replace or update and files your server doesn't have

I got the [TEMP]server out of date message when I accidentally
rm *.* all the text files on the cstrike dir, tried replacing it with same files from my HL2 client and thats when I got the error.
