yes...
is there any way to check if it worked or not?
I just tried joining with no success, so it didn't work......Hmmmmm......It could be your modem is sending the info to the wrong place.

Go into your modems settings page. There will be a tab that says DHCP Server. It could also be under advanced. After u click DHCP server there should be a button that says DHCP clients table. If u can get the client table to show up post a screenie, if not tell me and ill try n find some info on D-link Routers.

Go to status and see if there is something related to the DHCP client table there.
theres this :
LAN MAC Address 00-11-95-77-9c-e0 IP Address 192.168.0.1 Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0 DHCP Server Enabled then on the left there is Logs Stats Wireless (the first page is device info, were i got that stuff but thats not all the info on divice info page, just the one that had DHCP in it)

WAN 153002 Packets 45356 Packets
LAN 87446 Packets 72938 Packets WIRELESS 10 Packets 786 Packets thats whats in stats.. do you have aim??

I do not have aim, i have yahoo and msn. my yahoo is the same name as u see here. I hope i dont lose you with this but your setup could be like mine, or it could just be your router cuz i havent heard very positive things about d-link routers and SRCDS. But with my setup, I forwarded the ports in my router (linksys befsr41 ver2), and to no amazement it wouldn't secure itself and post itself online. After about two days tweaking with my router and modem I figured out I had to forward some ports in my modem too, the router knew where to send the info, but my modem had no idea where to send it. I looked on my DHCP Client table and noticed my router had an IP just like the rest of my pc's on my LAN. On my LAN my routers device IP is 192.168.1.1, but my modems DHCP server also gave it the ip of 192.168.0.4.. I forwarded all the necessary ports for the ip 192.168.0.4, BAM first try and it worked online.

i guess i could buy a new router
what kind of router could i get that would work but for the least amount of money.. one that you know would work..
Linksys are fairly easy to use. If your network doesn't use wireless that makes it easier also. I dont know too much bout belkin cuz i bought a router once from them. Same day i took it back. If you decide to get a new router, or keep your current one, post your progress here and I or someone else will help ya.
