#1
Hello.

I have a big problem with the installation from the CSS Server.

I would to create a account für the Server.

The Comand that i tried was :

./steam -command create -username XXXXXXX@XXXXXXX.de -email XXXXXX@XXXXXXX.de -password XXXXXXX -question "XXXXXX XXXXXX?" -answer XXXXXXXX

After that i become this from Steam:

Checking bootstrapper version ...
Use:

Create a Steam Account:
-create <username> <password> <question> <answer>

Install or update HLDS:
-update <game> <installdir> <username> [<password> [Y]]
Y => remember password

View installed versions:
-version
Ok I thing. They have changed the Command strukture.
So i tried it with this Command:

./steam -create XXXXXX@XXXXXXXX.de password "XXXXXX XXXXXX?" XXXXXX

After that Say Steam :

Checking bootstrapper version ...
Creating Account
AuthenticationServerRSAPublicKey failed signature verifcation

I didnt understand it.
I run a CS 1.6 Server and have a account with it. I have tried to install CSS with the account From the 1.6, but it is nocht going.

So, can me Someone tell what i do wrong?

The Server is a Suse 9.0 Version with 1 Gig RAM.
I connectet on the Server with ssh

Pls help me.

try
Code:
./steam -update
to get the latest steam bootstrapper. If that doesn't work, you might have a problem with SSL, or openSSH.

Then you might have an issue with SSL.

Yeah, actually the fix is to delete your ClientRegistry.blob in your .steam/ folder.

cd .steam/
rm -rf ClientRegistry.blob

Or you can jsut delete the folder it is in.

rm -rf ~/.steam

Thanks,
but i have found another way to do that.

The steam Version with that i have problems was the version new version from the Stempowered Server.

I copied the steam File from a CS 1.6 Server in another dir and try the installation with it.

The installation with this older File run without Problems.

I have no idea why, but it runs and its ok Smile

Hi,
i didnt know what is running wrong with your steam.

You only make a copy of the steam file in antoher dir.

a example:
you copy the steam file from /home/server1/hlds to /home/server2/hlds

Than look thats the rights are correctly sets.

Than create a account with this command (replace the XXX with your data)
./steam -command create -username XXXXXXX@XXXXXXX.de -email XXXXXX@XXXXXXX.de -password XXXXXXX -question "XXXXXX XXXXXX?" -answer XXXXXXXX
(if you have a steam account for your server you can jump over that)

After create your steam account take this command to install your css server (i take as example dir the /home/server2/hlds_l)

steam -command update -game "Counter-Strike Source" -dir /home/server2/hlds_l -username XXXXXXX -password XXXXXXX -remember_password
(replace the XXXX with your data)

This was the way that i goes.
It runs Smile

I hope its help you to install your server.
